Dr. Dan Curry has been our pastor since 1992. He has a servant's
heart and a desire to see people develop a loving relationship with God
and others. His preaching is always biblical, dynamic, and current.
Dr. Dan grew up as a son of a pastor and lived in the Texas panhandle
before attending Wayland Baptist University. Before God led him to
South Oaks, he completed two graduate degrees from Southwestern Baptist
Theological Seminary in Fort Worth, Texas and pastored several
churches. He and Alicia have been married for 37 years and have three
children (Robin and his wife Jill, Craig and his wife Fallon, and
Crystal and her husband Tommy) and four grandchildren.
Dr. Dan's desire is to share God's story, minister to the physical
needs in our community, and to equip people to become disciples of Jesus
Christ. You will find as you get to know Dr. Dan better that he is,
as much as anything else, a people person. He enjoys being around
where people are, telling stories, listening to your stories, and
enjoying fellowship and friendships that have been developed from 20+
years of ministry. His door is always open. He loves to talk and is a
great listener.
